Founded in 1987, Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna (FWA) - the Malta Heritage Trust, is a voluntary non-governmental organisation which specialises in the fields of military  heritage conservation and management. It has over the years successfully salvaged a large mix of military sites and buildings covering an uninterrupted period from the 16th century to the Cold War. It has also established eight military museums and attractions which are considered amongst Malta's best.
